DECEMBER 31st, 2018:
Whoa, its already time to do another year-end review?! This year seemed to go by so fast...but I did manage to release some things that I am very proud of:
CREEPY STICK - WOODEN JELLO BOOTS ep
TEST APES - THEY CAME IN PEACE ep
MAX BRODY - PLAGUEGROUND lp
MASQUERADE AS ANGELS finished more songs...and rumor has it that there may be a CD release coming up next year... slow but sure!
I was also able to contact, re-connect and create a release for one of my old favorite Seattle bands, SORE JACKSON, complete with 2 CDs, a Booklet, a DVD and a couple of Stickers! (the music is available as two free downloads HERE ...scroll to the bottom of the page... the video is available to watch, HERE)
On Facebook, I managed to drop a post every day with the theme "365 DAYS, 365 SONGS". Next year I plan to branch out to different social media platforms... but won't be doing a post every single day, lol. I will still be on Facebook...just less. So far, I have started an Instagram account and a Minds.com account...
On Halloween, PLAGUEGROUND was released. The next day I was interviewed by DJ WADE T on KSER in Everett, WA and given an opportunity to spin some of my own tunes as well as some old favorites. Thanks again, WADE!

In November I surprised myself with a burst of song writing, composing nearly an LPs worth of material in 2 weeks...which will become the basis of another solo EP or LP. At this point, I am flirting with the idea of forming an trio or something...we shall see... over the last month I picked a set of tunes, rearranged/rerecorded them as a basic 3 piece rock trio, and liked what I heard! I never EVER envisioned myself on a stage holding a guitar-like object...but I may just end up there! Gulp!!
There's a few other surprises in store for 2019 that I just want to keep under my hat for now. My focus for the time being is finishing up this LP, practicing, visualizing and meeting local musicians...
As always, the word of mouth you yourself are able to provide is the best promotion and most appreciated of all! Thanks to those that support me that way; its more helpful and appreciated than you may realize!
All the best to everyone in 2019!!

NOVEMBER 22ND, 2018:
Not sure what the deal is, but in the last 2 weeks or so I've composed enough new songs for just about another LP! Still need one more number, but dang I don't usually work this fast. My plan was to put out another solo LP maybe on my Birthday (March) and have the title be something to make fun of the fact that I'm about to turn 50. But who knows, maybe it'll be earlier.
I had decided to use one of my own paintings for the cover already. However, I recently also had a meeting with P. Earwig, and he and I plan on doing more projects utilizing his amazing graphic work...probably including this one! ...in some way or another!! ...woot!!!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

PLAGUEGROUND is now available! click here or the pic of the cover (<<< left)...Also, you can listen to me get interviewed and spin some tracks tomorrow, November 1st, on FM 90.7 KSER in beautiful Everett, WA on the LAST EXIT show with DJ WADE -- 10:30 pm (pacific time). Link to KSER HERE
I reckon half of this album is some sort of rock, and the other half is, well...other! There is an ambient song, an electronica song, a pretty, retro almost doo-woppy number, a song that goes thru a variety of styles, and a big band shuffle number that I even sing on...what?! I performed just about everything, but did get SOME help: The ambient song contains a field recording of around 300 contestants warming up for a bagpipe marching corps competition at the Scottish Games in Washington. I walked around taping the hypnotic cacophony, then mashed it up and layered instrumentation on top. Two other songs were recorded at my brother Doug's place with him playing bass on one (5)--both bass and guitar on the other (9). Then there is the amazing help from P. Earwig on the artwork. Huge thanks to both Earwig and Doug!

JULY 28TH, 2018:
At some point in 1991, I went to go see SORE JACKSON for the first time. The next morning my neck was all sore from headbanging and I was pretty bruised up from slam dancing. AH!
WELL...! Over the next few years I did THAT as often as I could. To me, they were about as fun as a rock show could get other than say, BUTTHOLE SURFERS. I don't think anybody knew about them outside of our little scene, however, and the shittiest part about it was that after I moved away in '93, they fizzled out just a few months later. They never had a proper release, despite writing and RECORDING a slew of material...UNTIL NOW, THAT IS! The SORE JACKSON project is finished, and I am excited to bring this collection to the web.
I spent over 80 hours during the last 3 weeks getting everything prepared and the physical copies manufactured. The physical copies included 2 CDs, a DVD, a 16-page booklet, 3 screen printed vinyl stickers and the 2-sided cover. That's one cram-packed package! During the Storeroom Reunion I was thankfully able to make enough money selling copies at $10 a pop to cover the cost of the materials. It was a ton of work, and I enjoyed the shit out of it, but if you'd like to support what I did and what I've been doing, I would greatly appreciate you checking out my other work and sharing stuff around. Your word of mouth is super, super-duper helpful. Download the SORE JACKSON for free and share it with your friends! Or pay for it, knowing that it is a donation to me. This is the agreement I have with the band. We both just want you to give it a try. I really don't think you'll be let down. If you've never heard them, chug a pitcher of beer or two (or if you don't do that, just pretend) and STRAP YOURSELF IN.
If you know who SORE JACKSON is, then I know you recognize what a treasure this collection is. YOU ARE WELCOME, lol!! I've been getting some huge thank yous which have been really gratifying. It makes me happy to be able to bring back some great memories...and maybe help make new ones!
Lastly, I would like to recommend that you enjoy these juicies in this order: first, the EP, then the LP, then the VIDEO. The whole thing will take a little over an hour to experience...and a lifetime to digest.

Now I can get back to working on 4 different solo EPs, studio work with MASQUERADE AS ANGELS, FRIED SMILING, and CREEPY STICK, editing audio from SOMETHING WEIRD VIDEO compilations into new AUDIO creations, and some other stuff I'm not talking about yet!

July 10th, 2018
Firstly, on July 4th, TEST APES' new EP, "THEY CAME IN PEACE" became available on Bandcamp.
CLICK HERE TO LISTEN, SHARE, and DOWNLOAD!!
Next, since April I've been super busy writing and recording solo material in a number of different genres. I think I will be releasing this stuff as 2 or 3 separate releases rather than one long and eclectic one. I've also started working at the company SOMETHING WEIRD VIDEO, which is simply a most amazing company!!
CLICK HERE TO CHECK OUT THE AMAZING COLLECTION OF WEIRDNESS!
The most exciting SWV thing I've been working on is pre-producion for re-releasing a 4 volume set of audio, "DUSK TO DAWN TRASH-O-RAMA SHOW", which is a long string of radio spots and trailers for trashy cinema that is completely hilarious and makes me want to watch every one of em! These volumes had been available in the 1990's on cassette tapes only. This will be the first time they are available digitally.
So, this has been exciting work but even more exciting is another project that I've started...drumroll, please...
I am proud to be releasing all of the lost recordings of SORE JACKSON as well as a video of one of their shows...(!!) What? Who's that?

The elusive creature, known as DAN FAUGHT has been spotted alive! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, the singer for the most "shoulda-made-it" band ever, SORE JACKSON and I have gotten together to see what we can do about -- FINALLY AFTER OVER 25 YEARS -- PUTTING OUT A FUCKING SORE JACKSON RELEASE!!! Yes, this is happening!
SORE JACKSON was a Seattle band from the 90's that ruled. They were my FAVORITE, along with 2 other bands, GORILLA and SLEEPCAPSULE, and I would go to every one of their shows.
Unfortunately, SORE JACKSON never had a proper release. You cannot find much if anything about them online. They did some recording of demos, and did have an appearance on a split single with a band called SLAPPYWHITE as well as a couple of compilations, one of which I had made myself.
But, they broke up before anything real could happen, and its always been such a tragedy to me. The world should have heard of SORE JACKSON. They, and WE, were denied! Lame!! There have been plenty of thrashy punk bands out there, but there was something about them that I've never heard before or since. They still get me worked up and still sound fresh.
In fact, I had recently re-released the compilation I made that they were on, mostly to get SOMETHING from them available on the web! I figured that I already had had permission to at least do THAT back in '93. Regardless, during the process I tried my best due diligence to reach out to anyone that had been on it to make sure they would be ok with it being re-released, etc, etc...and I was able to re-connect with DAN FAUGHT, SORE JACKSON'S singer.
Then, a few things happened.
Late in 2017, a reunion of sorts was announced to celebrate the punk scene that happened at the STOREROOM TAVERN durning the Grunge heyday. And this was OUR scene... so suddenly there was a small burst of interest in all things STOREROOM. I was contacted by someone trying to get through to Dan, and he was talking about putting out an unauthorized SORE JACKSON release because, like me, he felt (this is 25 years later, remember!) that it was important to DO SOMETHING about the lack of SORE JACKSON recordings out there. So, while I did not agree with his tactics, I completely agreed with his sentiment.
I contacted Dan and we had a talk. Its so funny and sad how many artists treat themselves. They are often their own worst enemy. I reckon I'm the same (...egads!). But, anyway, it seemed to me like Dan doesn't think that anyone gives a shit about SORE JACKSON. I think I was at least able to convince him that, whether or not THAT'S true, a bunch of the folks who know and remember SORE JACKSON are going to be in the same room together in JULY. So, if there was ever a time to put out a retrospective, the time was NOW. I had him there.
A few days ago Dan and his lady Kara came over to my place and he whupped on me everything he had. We drank some beers and came to an agreement about how to proceed. It was then that I found out that not only were there several recordings that I had never known about and that there was a video cassette that had footage of a show AT THE STOREROOM! I also came to realize that they had a 5 song demo VANISH which was fortunately the thing that I DID have...on a cassette, but better than nothing! Phew!
Since then I've been digitizing music, video, flyers, photos, and anything else I can get my hands on to make these very special CD/DVD combo releases. If you've ever enjoyed a SORE JACKSON show, you WILL want this!! If you've never heard SORE JACKSON, you MUST check them out!!
So, it is with great excitement that I get all this together and manufactured in preparation for the STOREROOM REUNION, July 21st at the OFFRAMP, er, I mean EL CORAZON! (ha).
