This album was recorded in 2012 at Cris Burns's Studio in south Austin. |

The other two songs are instrumental freak outs... AUSTIN CHRONICLE REVIEW FROM APRIL 2014
Insect Sex Act
A Fist Full of Panties, For a Few Panties More, or Once Upon a Time in Your Panties
Reviewed by Greg Beets, Fri., April 4, 2014
"Toting a title worthy of Fiona Apple, Scratch Acid guitarist Brett Bradford leads Insect Sex Act on a muddy combat crawl through groaning, twisted narratives that cinch the zeitgeist of sun-baked noise-punk at the cusp of its autumnal years. The veterans of ISA channel the heady thrall of Woodshock-era Austin (1981-2001), but with more attention to form and structure. Bradford's tightly wound distortion defines these maturated projectiles as the able-bodied tag-team of Pocket FishRmen bassist Jason Craig and Ministry drummer Max Brody provide rubber-burning muscle. Malevolent highway mirage "Road Toad" sets the scene with driving urgency, then yarn-weaving vocalist Richard Alexander gets a bad hand from the devil masquerading as a club owner in "No Deal." His rapid-clip spoken-word combines a vintage seeds-and-stems drawl with the cadence of an overstimulated scenester who raps incessantly into your earhole even as bands play at full volume. "Gravy" marries dissonant doom to a flag-waving culinary lyrical sentiment distended from Crust's "Chemical Pattie" prior to Devo's "Gates of Steel" getting gloriously reimagined. From the brim to the dregs, not an early bird special in sight."

IT'S JUST ONE OF THOSE THINGS:
February 17th, 2014:
I ran across some footage today of ISA from a "4-20" party in Austin, TX. back in 2007. It was fun to watch, and it brought back some great memories for me of playing little party events like it and so many others-- where the beer is free, its nice outside, there's little or no cover to get in and its really all about having fun and networking. I don't imagine we got paid much, if anything, other than beer, a bit of gas money and the opportunity to get LOUD. The only problem is the sound quality is incredibly bad. In fact the video quality is pretty crappy, too-- we are talking about a cheap-ass digital camera from 2006 to record this masterpiece, after all...
But not so bad that I couldn't take it for a song or three. Its only about 10 minutes long. My memory card must have run out of space... or maybe the batteries died. That's what generally happened.
Therefore, for those still intending on watching the following video, please be forewarned. I am sorry for any inconvenience.
Thanks must go out to Bryan Nelson for organizing the event. That's how he is. He's the guy in the middle of the video listing off the bands playing that day:
Gorch Fock
Insect Sex Act
The Don Rickles Blues Explosion
So... here's the snippet:

New ISA album is ready!
February 2, 2014:
Last week I heard from Brett that the new album is done being mixed and is mastered. We have the artwork, too. All that's left to decide is the album title and other last second credits additions. I can't wait to share it with everyone!

Insect Sex Act...a video clip...
Here's a clip from a 2012 show in Austin...the sound is a bit over loaded, but hey...I'm just happy somebody cared enough to film us and upload it to Youtube! The song is called "Gravy", and will be on our new album...out soon!
